• My Weekend Reset Routine: Clean, Chill, Recenter

April 21, 2025

There’s something sacred about the weekend. Even if I don’t have big plans or a packed social calendar, I need those couple of days to hit pause, breathe, and get myself back together. I’ve found that creating a little “reset” routine for the weekend has seriously changed the game for my mental health, productivity, and general peace of mind. It’s not about doing everything perfectly—it’s about giving myself the space to reset intentionally.

Here’s what my typical Weekend Reset Routine looks like. It’s part cozy girl, part CEO of my own life, and 100% for me.

☀️ 1. Slow Morning, No Alarms

I try not to set an alarm unless I have somewhere to be. Sleeping in a little (even just an extra hour) feels like a luxury. I usually start the day with a big glass of water, a cozy cup of coffee or matcha, and just sit in bed scrolling Pinterest, journaling, or reading a few pages of a book.

Tip: If you’re not a “slow morning” person, just give yourself 15 minutes before jumping into productivity mode. It makes a difference.

🧼 2. Clean & Declutter

Nothing chaotic—just a refresh. I usually put on a cute playlist or a comfort YouTube video (Emma Chamberlain, anyone?) and do a quick tidy:

  • Make the bed (even if it’s already noon)
  • Clear surfaces (kitchen counters, bathroom sink, desk)
  • Put away laundry or toss it in the wash
  • Wipe down mirrors & spritz a little room spray

I try to romanticize this part—wearing something comfy-cute, lighting a candle, and turning it into a vibe instead of a chore.

✍️ 3. Mind Dump & Mini-Plan

Before I even think about next week, I do a little mind dump. I write down anything that’s stressing me out, random to-dos, things I’ve been putting off, etc.

Then I make a mini plan:

  • What’s coming up next week?
  • What do I need to prep for?
  • What do I want to make time for?

Sometimes I’ll use a planner, but mostly I just write in my Notes app or a journal. No pressure, just clarity.

🧖‍♀️ 4. Self-Care Rituals

This is when I fully enter my Soft Girl Rebirth Mode™. Some of my fave weekend self-care rituals:

  • Hair oiling + slick back bun
  • Long shower with exfoliation + body lotion routine
  • Face mask + gua sha + lip balm overload
  • Put on a cute matching set or cozy loungewear
  • Paint my nails (or at least reapply cuticle oil like I have my life together)

🍵 5. Intentional Chill Time

This isn’t doom scrolling. This is curated chill.

I might:

  • Watch a comfort show or new rom-com
  • Bake something just for fun
  • Read outside or at a cute café
  • Do something creative (journaling, Canva mood board, etc.)
  • Call a friend or FaceTime catch-up

It’s about being present and doing something that actually fills me up—not just numbs me out.

🌙 6. Early Wind-Down & Vibe Check

Sunday nights can feel ✨ emotionally charged ✨ if you know what I mean. So I like to get cozy early—dim lighting, tea, a chill playlist or rain sounds. Sometimes I’ll do a little tarot pull or intention-setting for the week. Other times, I just curl up and rewatch “Pride and Prejudice” for the 17th time.

This isn’t about being perfect. It’s about creating a vibe where your mind, space, and spirit feel clear again.

🫶 Final Thoughts

My weekend reset routine isn’t set in stone—it changes with the seasons, my mood, and where I’m at in life. But the goal stays the same: clean my space, calm my mind, and come back to myself.

If your weekends have been feeling rushed, chaotic, or just meh, try building your own reset ritual. It doesn’t have to be fancy. It just has to feel like you’re holding space for yourself.

Sincerely, Sarah
